The Galera that advances

Dear neighbours,

We have municipal elections again and we want to put ourselves at your disposal again so that Galera can continue to improve and advance.

Four years ago we decided that we wanted to fight for our village and we had the massive support of the people of Galera. During those years we have worked tirelessly to make things go as well as possible; we have been robbed of sleep, spent time away from our families, but it has been worth it - the village that we have today, we believe, is much better than it was.

Our initial priority was to bring the accounts and the town hall up to date. When we came in, some suppliers didn't want to work with the council because they were owed money or had been paid too late, as was the case with the home help workers. It took a lot of effort, but we managed to get all the bills paid every month and not accumulate debt. We are now one of the few councils in the province that pays within 0 days.

In the middle of the legislature we had to manage the COVID pandemic which, fortunately, in our village had not been particularly hard. At that time nobody knew what to do or how to act, but by working hard and making ourselves available to our community, we believe that everyone felt supported and protected. We were handing out masks, doing the shopping for the elderly and the sick, and helping those who needed it, despite the risks and uncertainty that prevailed during those days.

We are embarking on several projects to try to get the meadows working again, so that we can find profitable crops. This work has not yet been completed and has not yet borne fruit, but we hope that very soon we will see results.

We have managed to ensure that our village population hasn't decreased and that the number of inhabitants is increasing every year. Two projects have just been launched to attract new inhabitants from which we also expect good results.

From the beginning we have been working hard to put the name of Galera throughout the world and through its promotion, the organisation of renowned events such as the 'Titán Desiertos' (mountain bike race) or the 'Jazz en el Desierto' festival, we have managed to fill our village with people and the hotel and catering businesses have recovered.

Much progress has been made, the foundations have been laid to continue developing our village, but it is necessary not to abandon what has been undertaken, so we ask you to vote for this candidacy that is giving its all to make Galera an inspiration.
